Over the last years I built more than fifty fly rods. From short glass sticks with all the soul you can hope for to beast-wrangling 12WT cannons, always pushing the limits of the possible further out. They caught everything, from Trouts in Switzerland over Tarpon and Trevallies in the Salt to Golden Dorado in the Jungle.

Nowadays there are rods around for every budget. And even the most affordable ones have a decent performance compared to older days. 

But those are mainstream rods. Companies need to make money - they produce what the mass will buy and what maximizes their profit.
